Watch the bit of this video with Bill O'Reilly and Dr. Marc Lamont Hill. Hill makes a truely awesome statement about O'Reilly. And it's so beautifully slipped in there that O'Reilly sort of doesn't seem to quite get it. Awesome.
And this video? Hill continues to kick O'Reilly's ass. It's actually an interesting point he's making about the differences between academics and administrators and what the job of an academic is. If you can tune out O'Reilly, it's an interesting topic. And for those of you who miss what the bit about Larry Summers is all about, allow me to remind you of who he was. He was the Harvard president who went on the bit about women not being as good at math and sciences. So yeah. that's who that is.
Oh god, Hill is perhaps one of my favorite people already. Did you hear what he said at the begining? He talked about white privilage and the idea that all these images and such DON'T HAPPEN IN A VACCUM. There is a context for these images. Think about it. Also, I ADORE his bit about how racism and sexism are both still racism and sexism, even if the people involved had a choice. Brillance
Dr Marc Lamont Hill? BRILLIANT. WIN. AWESOME.
